Important information for Friday’s Tourism Hackdays

We are delighted that you are taking part in the MAKE Open Tourism Data Hackdays. Here is some important information for you:

DATE:
The MAKE Open Tourism Data Hackdays take place on 27 and 28 October 2017.

GETTING THERE:
As already announced, you will receive a CHF 42 discount from SBB for your journey by train. And thanks to RhB, the trip from Chur to Arosa and back is free of charge. Your personal voucher code will be sent to you by e-mail on Wednesday.

VENUE:
The Tourism Hackdays take place at the ”Sport- und Kongresszentrum” in 7050 Arosa – about a 5-minute walk from Arosa railway station.
Here you will find directions from Arosa railway station to the venue.

PROGRAMME:
Details of the programme are available at tourism.opendata.ch. You will also find the programme further down in this e-mail. Project ideas and datasets will be presented right at the start of the hackday on Friday. You will find more information on this in the next two sections.

IDEAS:
Do you already have an idea for (your) hackathon project? If so, you can already enter your project idea here and then briefly present it right at the start of the hackday.
If you don’t yet know what you would like to work on, here are a few inspiring questions we are happy to share with you:
How can we make a tourist’s stay in a Swiss holiday destination even easier, more beautiful, more exciting and happier? What might the tourist office of the future look like? Which services and content would ideally be available? And what information and content do tourists actually look for and need? How should this content be curated and made accessible? Feel free to enter your idea here.

DATA:
If you know of any interesting datasets that you would like to draw attention to at the Tourism Hackdays, you can suggest them here.

HOTEL:
From Friday to Saturday we will be staying at the Hotel Sunstar in Arosa, Seewaldweg, 7050 Arosa. The hotel is about a 15-minute walk from the venue. You can check in from Friday afternoon: simply give your name at reception and you will receive your room key.
