Open data and the elections

There are elections in October: Switzerland is choosing a new parliament. Not least, it will have to deal with open data, transparency and innovation. So the question arises: whom should you vote for to get more open data?

Opendata.ch recommends its two co-founders and board members, Matthias Stürmer and Hannes Gassert.

Hannes Gassert is standing in the Canton of Zurich for the SP. As a successful digital entrepreneur at the interface of technology, society and culture, as a member of the Board of Trustees of Pro Helvetia, as a board member of Powercoders, the coding school for refugees, and as a political newcomer, he is committed to making technological development into real, human progress for all.

Matthias Stürmer is standing in the Canton of Bern for the EVP. As a researcher at the University of Bern, as a member of Bern City Council and as President of the Digital Impact Network, his commitment is to digital sustainability. With Parldigi, Matthias is one of the pioneers of digital policy in Switzerland and is regarded as the champion of open source par excellence. Matthias knows: IT policy is economic location policy — among other things, but not only.
