Since the announcement of this year’s Open Knowledge Conference (OKCon), many people have asked us how they can get involved. The time has come. We are pleased to announce today that the call for proposals was launched today.

OKCon 2013 will be an intensive two-day event taking place from 17 to 18 September in Geneva. The programme will be determined partly by the organisers directly, with invited speakers, and partly developed in collaboration with our community – thanks to its proposals.

Six thematic areas have been drawn up to discuss and explore this year’s conference motto Open Data – Broad, Deep, Connected. We hope these topics will inspire and enthuse everyone interested:

Open Data, Government und Governance
Open Development and Sustainability
Open Science and Research
Open Culture
Technology, Tools and Business
Evidence and Stories

Further instructions, an FAQ and the submission form: OKCon 2013 Call for Proposal. We look forward to as many ideas and proposals as possible.

The call for proposals opens today (7 May) and closes on 24 May at 23:59:59 GMT. Further information on the conference website.
