DINAcon Awards 2017 – for open data projects and applications too!

CH Open is presenting the DINAcon Awards for the first time this year to honour the courage and innovative strength of companies, authorities, communities, developers and individuals. The awards will be presented at the first conference on digital sustainability, DINAcon 2017, which takes place in Bern on Friday, 20 October 2017. Entries for the award can be submitted here from now until 14 July 2017.

Companies, public bodies, open source and open data communities and individuals who have shown innovative strength and courage in developing and using open source software and open data applications can apply. This year we will also newly consider entries that address the topic of digital sustainability. From now until 14 July 2017, entries for the DINAcon Awards can be submitted:

Communication on the submission website is in English, so that entries from French- and Italian-speaking Switzerland are also possible. Precisely because open communities work globally today, applications from international projects and companies are possible alongside Swiss ones.

Until now, the awards were known as the CH Open Source Awards. With the new name DINAcon Awards, the organiser wants to take account of developments in the field of open data and digital sustainability and to broaden the scope of the awards.

Last year’s six CH Open Source Awards went to the following winners: the open source CRM solution SuiteCRM, Post CH AG for its MariaDB migration, Florian Bruhin with qutebrowser, René Moser with Ansible CloudStack, the opendata.swiss portal and the data.sbb.ch portal.

A jury of proven experts and entrepreneurs is responsible for the nomination and selection of the winners of the DINAcon Awards 2017. The nominated organisations, projects and individuals will be announced in September. The award ceremony takes place on Friday, 20 October 2017 as part of DINAcon 2017 at the Welle 7 Workspace in Bern. Nominees can attend this exclusive event free of charge.
