The relevance of open data in tourism
- Tourism
That is exactly what the Tourism Hackathon on 27 and 28 October 2017 is all about:
“For example, tourist sights with current opening times, pictures and vacancies of accommodation providers, public transport timetables with price information, cycle routes, snow reports for winter sports, eMobility sharing offers, hiking trails or public toilet facilities can be made visible in existing applications or emerge in new, useful apps.”
The topic of open tourism data is taken up in today’s article in Wirtschaftszeit, which presents the plans of a think tank from Immenstadt/Kempten. And we agree:
“The aim of the proposed idea is to significantly improve the quality, availability and re-use of real-time tourism information throughout Europe.”
