The challenges of our time do not stop at our cities and regions either. Do you want to help shape the city and region of the future? Take part in the Smart Regio Lab and develop new digital solutions for the Lenzburg Seetal region in interdisciplinary teams within 32 hours!

What are the project ideas and datasets?
Why Smart Regio Lab?
Digitalisation, which has already fundamentally changed many industries in recent years, is only just beginning in cities. We want to harness the potential of optimising workflows and processes in these complex environments to create the city of the future!
Companies, institutions and public infrastructure generate large amounts of data that are used only partially or not at all. Making better use of unused data for projects and new services is in the interest of these organisations, but above all in the interest of citizens and society. As part of the Smart Regio Lab, data from the city and region of Lenzburg-Seetal will be made available for developing creative ideas and first prototypes.

How can I take part?
The Smart Regio Lab is open to anyone interested. Our aim is to bring together interdisciplinary teams that develop new ideas and solutions within two days.
The information, links and interfaces needed to take part actively will be sent by email after registration (please also check your spam folder… ).
Shortly before the event, any links to the event stream will also be published here on the website.

The event takes place in the beautiful Aula of the Bleicherain school building in Lenzburg .
Results of the Smart Regio Lab can be presented at the next Citelligent conference at Lenzburg Castle and, where possible, moved on into a first implementation phase.

How much does it cost to take part in the Smart Regio Lab?
Thanks to our sponsors and partners, the Smart Regio Lab is free of charge.
Do I need a project idea or a team to take part?
No. You can come with an idea or as a team, but you don’t have to. At the start of the Hackdays, various project ideas and challenges will be presented. You can work on the project idea that inspires you most.
Is the Smart Regio Lab only for developers?
No, the Hackdays are aimed not only at developers, but also at designers, energy specialists, journalists, lateral thinkers & doers. Please register here.
Do I have to stay for all 32 hours?
No, that is not strictly necessary.
To contribute to the success of the project you have chosen, however, it is important that you agree with your team when and on what you will work.
What is the official language?
The language at the Smart Regio Lab is German. Within the teams, you are of course free to decide which language you communicate in.
What do I need to prepare?
Most important: a laptop and an internet connection!
It would also be great if you familiarised yourself in advance with Slack, Miro and, if still needed, Zoom, and had a look at the challenges on our project platform Hack.opendata.ch.
What happens afterwards?
One thing is clear: the results of the Smart Regio Lab remain the property of the team.
With the Smart Regio Lab projects, we want to achieve a long-term and lasting impact. Accordingly, the partner organisations are happy to continue supporting and promoting promising projects and results as best they can.
