The annual conference of Opendata.ch is just around the corner – after last year’s international edition, once again with a clear focus on Switzerland. On 18 September at the Volkshaus Zürich, the Swiss players in open data will meet to take a joint look at the current situation as well as at the challenges of the future.

Switzerland has an Open Government Data portal, Switzerland has an Open Government Data strategy and Switzerland has Opendata.ch. And yet: Switzerland has a transparency problem. It is far from exploiting its potential to make better and more comprehensible decisions through greater transparency, to inform more clearly and to create more value from its data. Sometimes it even takes a step backwards.
So what is to be done? The answer is clear and simple: move forward! In intensive workshops, hard-hitting panels and expert input from Switzerland and abroad, we will explore together how and in which direction we can move forward – in public administration, but no less in business, science and culture.
