Opening up data as a raw material for the digital society & economy

At its meeting today, the Federal Council defined overarching objectives for  its data policy and instructed the Federal Administration to draft the first key parameters of a data policy.

In the course of a discussion, the Federal Council defined the following overarching objectives for a coherent and forward-looking Swiss data policy: promoting Switzerland’s attractiveness as a location for value creation through data, creating modern legal foundations for the handling of data, and opening up data holdings as a raw material for the digital society and economy.
