The Opendata.ch/2017 conference took place on Tuesday, 27 June 2017 at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, and we warmly thank you for coming in such large numbers.

We were delighted to discuss the topic of open data with you and other participants from public administration, business, science, politics, journalism and IT on Tuesday, 27 June 2017.
The focus of this year’s conference was the further development of open data in Switzerland. Together we ventured into new territory. Representatives of the digital society shared insights into the topics Open Smart Cities, Open Tourism & Transport Data, Open Science, Open Food Data and Open Data Infrastructure.

10:00 - 10:20 Keynote by Peter Delfosse (de)
«Open Data im Machtgefüge der digitalen Transformation»

Peter Delfosse is CEO of the Axon Group. Among other things, the group provides its customers with insights gained from data so that they can make better decisions. A look back: at the end of 2006, Google Inc. acquired Endoxon, the predecessor company of the AXON GROUP, in order to integrate its leading mapping technology into Google Maps.
At the conference, Delfosse opens the programme and talks about the role of open data in the age of digital transformation.

Simon Hodson is an expert on data policy issues and research data management. He is the Executive Director of CODATA since August 2013. CODATA (http://www.codata.org/) is the Committee on Data of the International Council for Science (ICSU). CODATA exists to promote global collaboration to improve the availability and usability of data for all areas of research.

Rahel Ryf is head of the Open Data Platform Swiss Public Transport office at SBB CFF FFS in Bern. The open data platform opentransportdata.swiss is the platform for customer information data of Swiss public transport. The platform provides timetable, real-time and actual data, and the data covers all licensed transport companies in Switzerland.

Andreas Kellerhals (1954) has been Director of the Swiss Federal Archives since 1.11.2004. The Swiss Federal Archives operate opendata.swiss – a joint portal of the Confederation, cantons and communes for Swiss Open Government Data (OGD). The portal is an integral part of the Federal Council's Open Government Data Strategy Switzerland 2014-2018.

Sylke Gruhnwald is a reporter at the Beobachter, president of journalismfund.eu and a board member of the research network investigativ.ch. Previously, Gruhnwald worked at Swiss Radio and Television and at the Neue Zürcher Zeitung, among others, and was active as a board member of Lobbywatch.ch – the platform for transparent politics.

Pascal Jenny is an entrepreneur, former professional handball player and tourism expert. Since 2008 he has been tourism director of Arosa Tourismus, shaping the region with innovative initiatives. Jenny is also a member of the Executive Board of Swiss Olympic.

The Open Data 2017 conference was organised jointly by the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts and the Swiss association Opendata.ch. We thank our partners opendata.swiss, Hasler Stiftung, Seantis, nine.ch, Swissbib.ch and OpenDataSoft for their support – they made the Open Data Conference 2017 possible.
The day before, on Monday, 26 June 2017, the OGD DACHLI conference takes place.
Open Government Data requires more than just a modernisation of publication processes. It calls for an adjustment of basic attitudes, for a change often referred to as "OGD culture". Openness as supply and as demand must come together and foster each other in their further development. The OGD DACHLI conference deals with this topic of OGD culture and looks for concrete measures that the public sector can implement.
If you are interested in attending the event, you can write by 18 May 2017 to opendata@bar.admin.ch with the subject "OGD DACHLI".

Also on Monday, 26 June 2017, the first MyData workshop in Switzerland takes place, organised by the Swiss Data Alliance in collaboration with the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. It presents the latest Personal Information Management System (PIMS) solutions and, in a panel discussion, addresses the right to a copy and data portability.
The workshop is aimed at everyone interested in the paradigm shift in the use of personal data and the opportunities of digital self-determination.
